Sporting Melbourne FC?

MELBOURNE Heart is close to choosing a name for its A-League debut next season.

But officials, having used Heart as a working title for the franchise, want Melburnians to have a say in the club's name and have asked the public to offer suggestions online via the Herald Sun website.

More than 500 suggestions were made yesterday, including Sporting Melbourne FC.

"We're open to all suggestions, but we're looking for something that will give us a point of difference in the market place and will stand the test of time," Heart chief executive Scott Munn said.

"It can be modern or traditional and something with a historical slant could provide that point of difference."

Sporting Melbourne? Don't really like it. It just doesn't seem to fit in with Melbourne. City would be the best fitted name.

Well its come to this. A last round decider for the minor premiership. Melbourne just need a draw to earn it, whilst Sydney must win to claim the minor premiership. Hopefully melbourne easily do it. We go in with heavy injury problems which will put us
