Another Freecycle on board

Hi

Have just had a message back from Bracknell Freecycle and they have added this web site to their disclaimer for animals

This is the disclaimer that will be added to any animal posted on Bracknell Freecycle. I will try and get a response from Wokingham too. I think that Reading and Woodley around here do not allow animals but I will post to them too.

==================================================================================================

Freecycle claims no responsibility for animals placed or solicited through the activities of the list, its participants or bystanders. We strongly discourage exchanges of animals if there is any indication that a potential pet owner is not a loving and responsible individual.

If you seek a home for any animal, and if you're not prepared to spend adequate time to assure your pet a loving and suitable home, then we urge you to call on one of your local non-profit animal homes or rescue organisations.

Please visit http://www.animalrescuers.co.uk or /
to look up many other pet-related resources in this area. http://www.dogshome.org

My local Merseyside freecycle used to post animals . I just complaine everytime was was posted , then someone else complained so they ran a vote . Luckily those that didnt want animals posted just managed to scrape through.
I get the feeling that each area group is run slighly differently and its up to the individual group owner how they run it, as long as it conforms to the spirit of freecycle .

We now have another group called Realcycle , I am busy complaining to them as they have allowed animal postings in my area.
